This policy explains what Mathterial collects when you visit, what it is used for, and what it is not used for. It applies to this website only.
What you type into a calculator
The figures you enter into a calculator are not saved. They are used to work out the answer shown on screen and are not written to any database, log or record. There is no account to attach them to, and nothing to retrieve later.
One qualification worth stating plainly. The behavior analytics tool described below records how visitors interact with pages. It is configured to mask text entered into fields, so it captures that a field was used rather than what was typed. If you would rather not be included in that recording at all, the section on opting out explains how.
Analytics
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand which calculators people use and how they arrive. It sets cookies and collects things like the pages you visited, roughly where in the world you are, your device and browser, and where you came from. It does not tell us who you are.
Microsoft Clarity
We use Microsoft Clarity to see how pages are actually used: where people click, how far they scroll, and where a layout confuses them. Clarity records sessions and produces heatmaps. This is what tells us that a field is being missed or a result is being misread, which is the sort of thing analytics numbers alone never reveal.
Both are third party services. Google and Microsoft process the data they collect under their own privacy policies, and both may transfer it outside your country.
Advertising
The site does not currently show advertising. We intend to introduce Google AdSense, and when we do, this policy will be updated before the ads appear rather than after. Advertising partners typically use cookies to select and measure ads, and at that point this section will name what is set and what it is used for.
When you contact us
The contact form asks for your email address and your message, both required, plus your name and a topic if you choose to give them. If you tick the consent box, that is recorded with the message.
What you send is emailed to info@mathterial.com. It is not written to this website’s database. There is no record of your message on the site, no admin screen listing submissions, and nothing stored here that could be exposed if the site were compromised. Your IP address and your browser details are not included in the message or kept by the site.
The email then sits in our inbox like any other correspondence. It is used to reply to you and for nothing else: not added to a mailing list, not used for marketing, not sold or shared. We delete it once the exchange is finished, and in any case within 12 months.

Cookies
Cookies on this site come from the analytics services above rather than from Mathterial itself. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The calculators do not depend on them and will work normally if you do.
Opting out
- Most browsers can block third party cookies and scripts in their settings, which stops both services described above.
- Google offers a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics across every site that uses it.
- Sending a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal from your browser is honored where the service supports it.
- A tracker-blocking extension will also prevent both from loading.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information is held about you, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and to object to it being processed. Because this site holds no accounts and stores no calculator inputs, in practice the only personal information we hold is correspondence you have sent us. To ask about it, or to have it deleted, write to info@mathterial.com.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If what we collect changes, this page changes with it, and the date below is updated. Material changes, such as introducing advertising, will be reflected here before they take effect.
